Two-time world champion Eamon Sullivan has revealed that his swimming future is up in the air and he may not make it to the 2016 Olympic Games.
The spring star is at home in Perth recovering from a shoulder operation.
He said he had always planned to swim in Brazil but his motivation may not be there for another gruelling preparation.
"My thought process is I want to go to another Olympics but four years is a long time the way my body has been," Sullivan said.
"I want to take a year off competing and stay in Perth, get some solid training behind me, and make a decision when I am 100 per cent fit and ready to go another four years."
Sullivan's next assignment, if he opts to race on, will be the Commonwealth Games trials in 2014. |
